Fortem started in a front room. Evenings and weekends, boxes stacked against the wall, orders packed after long shifts in healthcare — a family effort built around a full-time job, because that's what it took.
Three years on, not a single paycheck has been taken out of the business. Every pound earned has gone back in — into stock, into systems, into doing things properly: serial-logged inventory, tracked returns, prices honoured, paperwork in order.
That's not a growth strategy anyone teaches. It's just how a family business behaves when it plans to be here in twenty years, not twenty months.
Trust is built in the details nobody sees. The check nobody watches you do. The record you keep because it's right, not because someone asked. We brought that habit with us — and it turns out distribution runs on exactly the same thing.
A brand handing you their stock is handing you their reputation. A retailer ordering a pallet is betting their shelf space on you turning up. Neither of them can see inside your warehouse. They just have to trust that when nobody's looking, you did it properly.
From the Latin fortis — strong. Strong brands need strong hands: a channel that protects pricing instead of eroding it, that holds a standard instead of chasing the bottom. It's a standard we hold ourselves to, not just a name over the door.
Today Fortem is full-time. The warehouse is bigger than a living room. The mission hasn't moved an inch.

How we operate
Whether you're stocking shelves or building a brand, you'll deal with the people who own the outcome.
